Does the 100, 301, 500 M/F stove require an air vent? | For appliances with a total heat output of up to 5kW (space and water heating) no provision is required as the natural leakage into the room around doors and windows may be adequate. However, in well insulated rooms it may be necessary to provide an additional air supply, the result of a smoke draw test will show if this is required. |
4. Can the 500 M/F be converted to burn wood? | Yes we can supply a set of metal plates to form a nest shape in the bottom of the stove in order to burn, wood virtually on the base .Note the bottom grate bars, riddling bars and rear support bars must be removed in order to fit the plate. | |

2. Can the FG500 be supplied with a coal bed instead of logs? | NO the shape of the ceramic bed will only allow ceramic logs to be placed on it. |
3. How do I light the FG500? You must first ensure the gas is switched on, if there is an isolator tap, then turn the outer black knob on the control to the position push the sliding lever down to the bottom (off) position, then press and hold in the white centre of the control and press the ignite button at the same time .
Stove should ignite on pilot on pilot light, hold button in for twenty seconds then release control.
Turn dial anticlockwise to the desired setting. |
4. What is the copper bulb for on the back of the FG 500 stove? | The bulb is a thermostat to control the room temperature. Once the room gets to the temperature relating to the number on the control, the flame will modulate down on to low flame. If the thermostat senses a drop in temperature the flame will come back up to high flame. |
5. How often does the catalyser need changing on the FG500 stove? The manufacturer of the Catalyser recommends the catalyser be changed after eleven years or average 11,000 hrs- this equates to 2-3 hours per night, as a secondary source of heat.
Note the stove should be serviced every year by a corgi engineer and the catalyser must be cleaned, using a vacuum cleaner or compressed air spray. | |
