This year’s cookery theatre is jointly sponsored by ESSE and Scottish Venison.
ESSE’s stunning range cookers will take centre stage, as chefs presenting in the cookery theatre make use of two of the company’s energy-efficient electric models.
One such presenter is Tim Maddams; chef, food writer, and cookery teacher, who works with ESSE to produce seasonal recipes at his home in Inverness using ingredients grown in his kitchen garden. ESSE first encountered Tim over ten years ago when he featured in the hit TV series River Cottage, regularly using ESSE’s iconic wood-burning Ironheart.
During his time as River Cottage Head Chef, Tim pioneered ethical, local, seasonal produce and became a key spokesperson in the area of responsibly-sourced food.
Tim is looking forward to demonstrating the versatility of ESSE’s electric range cookers at this year’s Game Fair: ‘ESSE has an incredibly interesting heritage that stretches back 170 years. The company was founded here in Scotland in 1854 after the founder survived a shipwreck and Shackleton and his team even relied on an ESSE during their Antarctic expeditions!
‘Despite being such a historic brand, they are very forward-thinking and have constantly moved with the times to meet the needs of modern homes.
‘The ESSE 1600 X – which we’ll be using on stage at The Scottish Game Fair – has timeless style and the quality ‘feel’ of a classic cooker, but its robust heat storage construction is now combined with modern benefits like fast heat-up times, electric controllability and responsiveness, and the immediacy of an induction zone.
‘I’m excited for more people to see just how incredibly versatile these modern range cookers are.’
The ESSE team will be on hand in their cooker display trailer [location TBC] to answer any questions and showcase the many options available, including efficient electric models, wood-burning options, cast iron hotplates, induction hobs, and eight different colours to choose from.
