Notre seul regret :: le lait de chaux Farrow & Ball (malgré six ou sept couches on a toujours l’impression que les murs sont bruts), mais on l’aime quand même d’amour notre cuisine.

I remember when we started out on this adventure wondering how it would be sharing our home with strangers, but over the last 3 months we have met and hosted so many lovely people. It`s means so much to us to offer an escape for our guests, a place to disconnect, recharge or come together with loved ones, it`s what so many people need, more then ever during this strange time.
Who knows when we will be able to welcome you here again, maybe it will be in a month, maybe 2 or if you live further away maybe it will be a little longer but we are looking forward to that day and until then it`s back to the renovations tomorrow. As you can see Philipp already managed to fit our beautiful new wood burner from esse1854
in the breakfast salon, it was the missing piece and I love how its sits in the restored fireplace. Now we just have to patiently wait for a missing part so we can get it lit and add some extra warmth to these November days of confinement.

Way back in October 2005 when we lived in Shropshire, we were lucky to be chosen to be on the front cover and a 5 page article in 25 Beautiful Homes magazine about our cottage renovation. The photoshoot took all day and we spent most of it laughing with the crew. We wanted to set the table with red wine in the glasses but we only had white wine ….. so as nobody could smell a photo we used vinegar in the glasses to look like wine. Our kitchen had an overpowering smell like a chip shop! It was a great day and one we will never forget. Our Airedale dog Max was like a diva and tried to get in every shot until he got removed to the end of the garden.

16 years fast forward and we still have our little white dresser with blue and white china in our home in Scotland . Our design ideas are very different now, but we have fabulous memories of our Shropshire cottage.
